Handshake is a free, online job and internship database that offers recruiting services for students, alumni, employers, faculty and staff in the Commonwealth. Handshake is an online career management system where you can find job and internship listings, upcoming events to build your career, and helpful resources from around the Commonwealth of Virginia.

1. To login, visit the Handshake page.
2. If you do not have an account, you can create one.
3. Upload documents like resumes, cover letters, or transcripts to streamline internship job applications.
4. Complete your profile by adding details such as skills, experience, and education.  Verify preloaded information if your school has partnered with Handshake
5. Explore the home page to search for jobs, internships, events, and career fairs.
6. Save searches by clicking the bookmark icon for easy access later.
7. Follow jobs or employers to receive alerts about application deadlines or events.
8. Use the platform to apply for jobs, attend events, and connect with employers.
